Why a link beats an app for one-off events
App-store tools make sense for a club that runs events every week and wants people to keep coming back. For a one-off afternoon, a club social, a work event or a birthday, asking guests to download something, create an account and find your event inside it is friction you don't need. A link just works: tap it, you're in.
What players get without installing anything
- Their next match, court and opponent on a simple Home screen
- Live scores and the table or bracket, updating as results come in
- A shared round clock counting down on their own phone
- The ability to enter scores themselves, if the organiser allows it
What organisers get
Set everything up once on /new: teams, format and the schedule. From there you have a PIN-protected admin plus a private recovery link, co-organiser links so someone else can help on the day, announcements that reach every phone, and the ability to handle walkovers, late teams or player swaps without reprinting anything. A printable view with a QR code covers the noticeboard, for anyone who'd rather glance at paper.
No app download, no login, and no account needed for players — just the link or a short code word.
